Q: What are PayScale MarketRate Reports?

PayScale MarketRate reports are formatted to enable you to quickly and easily find targeted compensation and benefits information based on job and company attributes that you define, as well as view the source of the data used in your report. Reports contain Base Salary, Incentive Pay, and/or Hourly Rates as well as benefits information such as health insurance, vacation, 401(k) plans, and more. It also includes Compensation Influencers, showing how average salaries may correlate with a specific skill or trait.

PayScale MarketRate reports also show how closely each data point matches the job and company attributes that you have specified, and includes ten complete, anonymous profiles included in your report. At the end of each report is a brief summary of our methodology including data sources and collection methods, data validation, data analysis and reporting.

It is important to us that you are completely satisfied.  If for any reason our service does not meet your expectations, PayScale will refund you 100% of your payment if requested within 7 days of original purchase. Q: Where does the compensation data come from?

PayScale's data set starts with reputable surveys run by third parties including the U.S. Bureau of Labor and Statistics and U.S. Census Department. New data points are then added daily from all members that enter information directly into the system via the website. PayScale's unique ability to present highly targeted compensation information stems from its unique data collection methodology. For more information please see our methodology statement.

Q: Do I need to register to use the PayScale MarketRate service?

Yes, a personal account is created for you during the registration process. This password-protected account contains your search parameters and results. This enables you to return to PayScale at any time without having to re-input data.

Q: Can I print my reports?

Yes, you can print the report using the Print command in Adobe Reader. The report is formatted to print in Protrait format.

Q: What is your privacy policy?

At PayScale we take privacy very seriously and are sensitive to the nature of information being collected on this site. 

We do not sell, rent, trade or share personally identifiable information with anyone.

We do not provide advertisers with personally identifiable information of any kind.

We do not engage in, or support others in, the sending of unsolicited e-mail.

We limit system information access to key employees that are dedicated to our policy.

We utilize secure encryption technology and structural privacy techniques to protect information on our system.

No information submitted is traceable to any particular individual. It is used only for reporting anonymously and in aggregate form.

Q: Why do I get a message that a Pop up has been blocked from your site?

Your browser may mistakenly interpret some of the PayScale pages as "Pop Ups". Consequently, you may miss valuable information.  There are currently a number of popular tools and software companies who provide pop up blocking.  Please refer to the instructions with your software to temporarily disable pop up blocking in order to get the most from PayScale.

Windows XP SP2 users: Microsoft has recently added automatic pop up blocking to Internet Explorer.  Please right-click on the Yellow bar below your browser window and select "Allow Pop-Ups From This Site" to see the information you requested in a new window.

Q: Why am I not receiving email from PayScale?

Some Internet service providers and corporate email systems mistakenly filter email from PayScale into a junk mail folder. Please inform your Internet service provider or adjust any setting in your email so PayScale is recognized as legitimate mail.
