CEO and President

Mike Metzger

A lifetime technology leader, Mike joined PayScale in 2004 as the Chief Executive Officer. Previously, he was the CEO and president of Performant, and also held product leadership positions at RealNetworks, and Microsoft. Mike holds an MBA in industrial administration from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Clarkson University.

VP of Data Analytics

Katie Bardaro

Katie joined PayScale in 2008 as a research analyst and now heads up PayScale’s data team. During her tenure at PayScale, Katie has increasingly put her background in economics and statistics to good use and has further cultivated her penchant for public relations as PayScale’s lead economist. Katie’s publishing credits include: “Differences in the College Enrollment Decision Across Race,” (The American Economist) and “The Changing Relation Between the Canadian and U.S. Yield Curves,” (Journal of International Money and Finance). Additionally, she received numerous teaching awards as an economics lecturer at University of Washington (UW), including the Student Teacher of the Year award. Katie holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the College of the Holy Cross and a master’s in Economics from UW.

Melody Brown

Coming to PayScale as a high achievement sales leader, Melody joined the company in 2014. With a depth of experience — from startups to Fortune 100 companies — her most recent role was VP Sales & Channel for DataCore Software. She also was Managing Principal & Owner at PEAK Consulting, and had several sales management positions at Lexmark. Melody serves our local community as a member on the Board of Directors of Pike Place Market Foundation.

Barnaby Dorfman
Senior VP & GM of Consumer Services

Barnaby Dorfman

Barnaby joined PayScale in 2012 as general manager of the consumer product team. He previously spent seven years at Amazon.com and before that his foodie roots were born as he launched Foodista.com, an online cooking encyclopedia and food news source. He is a graduate of San Francisco State University and received his MBA from the Tuck School at Dartmouth College.

To say Mark is a numbers guy is an understatement. Mark had more than 20 years of executive experience in finance and operations before he joined PayScale in 2014. Most recently, he was CFO at Appature and has also held CFO positions at All Star Directories, Daptiv, M:Metrics, AccessLine, RealNetworks and Industrial Systems. He earned a Bachelor’s and a Master’s of Business Administration degree from Yale University.

Stacey Klimek

Likely one of the most charismatic people in the office, Stacey moved into the head of human resources role in 2014, after joining PayScale in 2009 as the Controller. Stacey possesses more than 25 years of executive, financial, and administrative experience inside fast-growth enterprises, most recently as CFO of Redhawk Group. Previously, Stacey held leadership positions with NetMotion Wireless (acquired by Padcom Inc.) and Captura Software (acquired by Concur Technologies).

Tim Low
Senior VP of Marketing

Tim Low

Tim oversees demand generation, product marketing, thought leadership and go-to-market strategy for PayScale’s innovative SaaS products. Tim has deep expertise enterprise software, cloud-based applications, technology marketing along with domain expertise in ERP, Project Portfolio Management, Collaboration and HCM markets. He held executive positions at Daptiv and at Niku (where he was part of the team that led the IPO), and senior product management roles at both Microsoft and Oracle. Tim was a founder of social analytics platform NorthbyNine and is a graduate of Marquette University.

Dave Smith

Previously with CareerBuilder, Dave joined PayScale in 2009. He was Chief Revenue Officer until 2014, when he shifted to heading the Business Marketing and Product teams. Prior to Payscale, Dave spent 15 years in sales and product marketing leadership positions with a number of successful, venture-backed startups. Dave holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business from the University of Oregon and an MBA from Portland State University.
