Adam Phillabaum

Adam has been working at PayScale since 2006. He started as a contract writer, and eventually moved over to be a full-time nerd. Most often he writes about the latest features and products that PayScale is releasing.

He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Idaho in Computer Science. He worked for two years at The Boeing Company and earned his Master of Science from Carnegie Mellon University.

    We released the latest version of the PayScale consumer website yesterday. Here is the rundown of what we shipped, and why it's great.

    School Pages in the Research Center

    PayScale generates a lot of really interesting reports and rankings, like our College ROI and College Salary Report. But, we've never made the school rankings available in our Research Center. So, we integrated our rankings, data from the government, from Wikipedia, and from you (our users) to create a resource for prospective students, current students, parents and alumni. 

  • Consumer Tech Team Hike Up Mailbox Peak

    We released some new code on Tuesday, so we decided to go for a little hike on Thursday. The chosen target: Mailbox Peak. This was a pretty ambitious hike: 4,000' of elevation gain over 3 miles. Basically, it's like walking up stairs.

    What Is PayScale HackDay?

    Once per quarter, the product development, data, and analytics teams all block off our calendars and get together in one big room. Fueled by donuts, pizza, coffee, and (later in the afternoon) beer, we build something that isn't on anyone's agenda other than our own.
