Why Working From a Coffee Shop is Beneficial
Working from an office can become mundane, which will hinder your creative process. Switching things up by working from coffee shops can increase your productivity and give you a nice change of pace.
Wesley Verhoeve shared these insights with Fast Company, outlining how coffee shops can benefit your overall work. He says the change in environment can help spark creativity, as it eliminates certain distractions and gives you an opportunity to meet new people.
“Even in the most awesome of offices we can fall into a routine, and a routine is the enemy of creativity,” Verhoeve writes. “Changing your environment, even just for a day, brings new types of input and stimulation, which in turn stimulates creativity and inspiration.”
There are, however, a few things to keep in mind when planning to turn a local coffee shop into your office for an afternoon. Verhoeve advises to rotate the coffee shops you visit to avoid a sense of routine, always make sure you’re buying more than just one cup of coffee throughout the day, choose a quiet corner of the coffee shop, avoid sitting near the counter, and make sure your devices are powered up and ready to go.
