How to Become A Game Designer [infographic]

Who knew that playing games could actually become a career? Better yet, you can help design the games people love to play. This Schools.com infographic reveals how to become a game designer.

A game designer is the visionary behind the game. He or she creates the layout, look and feel of the game. The designer also builds 2-D and 3-D animations, creates graphics and does research for game realism. If you're at the top 10 percent of your "game," you can make upwards of $109,370. The average designer makes around $60,830.

It's not just a man's world, either. Just since 2009, the number of women hired by game companies has tripled. Back in 1989, women didn't even make up 3 percent of the game industry workforce. Today, they make up the equivalent of about 11 percent. With growth like this, the numbers are sure to continue evolving.

Check out the infographic below for more revelations on becoming a game designer.
