Who Finds Love at Work?

We spend the bulk of our waking hours at the office, so it's not surprising that many people wind up dating someone at work -- at least for a while. Nine percent of people even wind up marrying a co-worker. If you're looking for love this Valentine's Day, where you work and where you live both matter, when it comes to upping your odds.

PayScale's data package Who Finds Love at Work? looked at the cities and occupations most conducive to office romance.

The top 5 cities were:

1. Chattanooga, TN

2. Des Moines, IA

3. Toledo, OH

4. Tucson, AZ

5. Cape Coral, FL

And the top 5 professions:

1. Food Service Managers: Average Salary: $39,762 per year.

2. Cooks: Average Salary: $9.80 per hour.

3. Dispatchers: Average Salary, $13.37 per hour.

4. Advertising & Promotions Managers: Average Salary, $50,758 per year.

5. Claims Adjusters: Average Salary, $46,380 per year

So there you have it: if you're looking for love, food service is where it's at. Roughly 25 percent of food service workers have dated a co-worker. Finally, it you're just looking for a fling, you'll need this information. Also, a solid (working) relationship with HR.

And speaking of HR: it probably goes without saying, but you'll want to check with them before dating your co-workers, seriously or casually. Some companies have policies against dating colleagues -- and if you break the rules, you can be fired
