While it has a strong academic reputation, the school is probably even better known for its sports programs. The Cornhuskers are in the Big 10 Conference and have won five national sports championships. The average cost of a UNL education is $86,900. Alumni of the school report a median return of investment of $387,000. That number increases to $414,000 when financial aid is included, highlighting that the school offers a college return on investment Nebraska students can use to kick-start successful careers. Some of the most notable alumni of the school are found in the fields of science, research, public service and business, and they include three Nobel Prize winners, eight Pulitzer Prize winners and 22 Rhodes scholars among their ranks.

Located just outside of downtown Omaha, the private, not-for-profit Creighton University is ranked 612th nationally in terms of 20 Year Net ROI. Alumni of the school, which is made up of nine colleges and schools, report a median return of investment of $265,000 without financial aid and $342,000 with it.
