Choosing a college is a major investment. By looking at the 20-year net ROI and annualized ROI of each college on our list, you can make sure to choose a school you can afford based on your current family income and your projected earnings over the next two decades. Earnings, however, depend greatly on choice of major so take that into account as well.

When ranked by college return on investment, Oklahoma is home to several public schools that provide a good return. The University of Oklahoma is the best value college in Oklahoma for in-state students. It also ranks well for out-of-state students coming in at number four. In-state tuition discounts mean that Oklahoma residents see a 20-year net ROI of $421,000, and up to $451,000 if they qualify for financial aid. Even if you have to pay higher out-of-state tuition, it may be worth it, since out-of-state U of O students still see a $373,000 20-year net ROI. Notable alumni include Blake Griffin, James Garner and Olivia Munn.

Southeastern Oklahoma State University took spots two and three on the list - for in-state and out-of-state students, respectively. The cost is fairly low, at $59,500 for in-state students and $90,900 for out-of-state students, and the subsequent return high - near $400,000 for both sets of alumni. The graduation rate, however, is low for first-time, full-time students at just 29 percent.

Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma has the fifth highest ROI in our rankings. OSU students see an annualized ROI of 8.7 percent (assuming they pay in-state tuition) and a 20-year net ROI of $358,000. OSU is a Big 10 school, and the Cowboys and Cowgirls are passionate about their winning sports teams, especially football. Garth Brooks, Gary Busey and Randy Couture were all OSU graduates.
