Miami Metro Area Pay Trends

Updated April 5, 2012
2012: The party scene in Miami may be hot, but the wage growth remains lukewarm. Wages in Miami stayed essentially flat in Q1 2012, ending the quarter up 0.3 percent year-over-year.

2007-2011: Miami-area wages enjoyed fast growth, outpacing national averages in 2007 and rising more than 4 percent by the end of 2007, compared to 2006. However, throughout 2008, compensation barely grew in Miami and declined sharply through the middle of 2009.

After a slightly positive trend during most of 2010, the year ended on a low note, with wages down about 1 percent year-over-year, erasing all positive gains. 2011 brought healthy gains though wages in Miami still lagged far behind their pre-recession peak.
