Area Manager, Retail Reviews

Q: What is it like working as an Area Manager, Retail?

Area Manager, Retail in Calgary:
"Like the job, not the pay."
Pros: I like the flexible hours, the mix of working alone as well as others, interacting with customers to solve problems and training staff to get the best performance out of them.
Cons: The corporate structure tends to be slow and uncommunicative. The salary is extremely low and I have trouble making ends meet, and I feel ignored by my superiors. I have not received a performance review in over two years and not received a pay increase in the same amount of time.
