Water Resources Engineer Reviews
Q: What is it like working as a Water Resources Engineer?
Water Resources Engineer in Edmonton:
"Great if you love how things work."
Pros: I love that there is always a new challenge with every project, and that the people are nice, but also dependable. There's a lot of independence with what you do. You get to go out into the field when the weather is nice, and stay in the office too.
Cons: Meeting project deadlines can be really stressful, and having to satisfy the client's sometimes unreasonable expectations can result in having a lot of overtime. You are always walking a tightrope -- if you spend too much time on project work, you go over budget, but if you spend too little, you are un-utilized. Work is volatile. One day you are twiddling your thumbs with nothing to do, and the next you are swamped with 5 projects that all needed to be done yesterday.
