An auditing manager oversees a company's process or procedure to ensure that it runs smoothly and that the company is following necessary laws and regulations. For instance, an auditing manager may be in charge of invoices, looking at invoice receipts and ensuring they are fulfilled as binding legal contracts. Many auditing manager positions include some work with internal company affairs; they may ensure that employees are all acting ethically in their profession and not engaging in behavior that may hurt the company or put their interests ahead of the company. This includes keeping a record of all company finances to ensure that no funds are “lost” because of a lack of organization or individual greed.
Because the job responsibilities of an auditing manager are highly specialized and require mathematical ability, a bachelor’s degree and professional background in accounting is preferred. To hold a management position in auditing, an individual should have three to five years of experience to develop an in-depth understanding of auditing practice. Finally, an acute attention to detail and a meticulous nature are preferred qualities of an auditing manager.
