Job Description for Senior Manager Auditor

Senior manager auditors are responsible for managing auditing tasks for their company. They are in charge of leading a group of auditors to assess financial activity and operational efficiency. They perform regular audits of company departments and recommend specific scopes for auditing activities, as well as assign tasks to auditing team members. One of the senior managing auditor's main functions is creating documentation based on collected audit data. They use this data to identify evidence of deficiency in controls, fraud, duplicate expenses, and other fields. These auditors also review records to find efficiency issues and recommend changes.

Senior managing auditors also analyze periodic company reports, communication discrepancies to upper management, and follow up with documentation as needed. They administer functional audit programs, represent their department in meetings, assist in the development of programs to improve audit processes, and interact with external clients and partners as required. In all tasks, these auditors must follow reporting procedures and comply with company regulations, as well as relevant laws. Senior manager auditors usually report their progress to the auditor director in their organization.

A high school diploma or equivalent is generally required for this position. In addition, previous experience in an auditing and managing capacity - as well as relevant industry certifications - may be preferred. Senior manager auditors must be proficient with basic financial software, as well as other office software such as email applications and word-processing programs.

These auditors must possess excellent analytical and communication skills, as well as pay strong attention to detail. They must work well in a team setting, but also be perform independently with minimal supervision.
