Job Description for Telesales Executive

The position of a telesales executive typically revolves around selling products and/or services over the phone. These executives are also required to create and maintain client records and accounts, develop relationships with clients, and encouraging consistent, ongoing, and mutually beneficial relationships. Contact with clients may be initiated either by an executive's phone call or a client's inquiry about a product or service.

Successful telesales executives must be knowledgeable of the products or services he/she is selling and able to answer any questions clients may have. Good communication skills are essential for this position, as well as the ability to negotiate and deal with potentially stressful situations in a calm and reasonable manner. These executives are also expected to perform as part of a team that shares a common goal of successful sales.

Those in this position are expected to understand and follow all directions from the team leader/supervisor, and should also exhibit good organizational and writing skills. Exceptional computer skills are generally required, and candidates who are bilingual and/or willing to travel for this position are in high demand.
Telesales Executive Tasks
  • Manage customer accounts and relationships using database technology and telephone calls.
  • Meet or exceed daily sales goals using strategies assigned by the supervisor.
  • Contact prospective customers via telephone to deliver sales pitches.
  • Perform follow-up services with customers to determine level of satisfaction.
