Order processing managers are in charge of overseeing all order processing-related duties for their company, leading a staff to perform all the steps necessary for processing order in a timely, effective manner. One of this manager's main functions includes overseeing day-to-day order operations such as verifying customer information, checking inventory numbers, and using operating procedures. Order processing managers also create processing schedules, develop budgets, track and report operating expenses, and deliver detailed reports to their supervisor(s). They serve as the point of contact for issue-escalation and vendors. In addition, they develop, implement and actively participate in staff training, as well as evaluate staff performance using established standards. In all tasks, order processing managers must follow all organizational privacy rules to ensure customers' personal information is protected.
A bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or another relevant field is required for this position. In addition, previous experience in order processing is needed, and managerial experience may be required or preferred. Order processing managers need to possess strong leadership and communication skills, as well as be organized and able to multitask. Additionally, these managers need to be able to use a personal computer to keep track of all orders and maintain accurate records for future reference.
