Most companies look for the construction project manager to have a bachelor's degree in building science, construction management, or civil engineering, along with five years of work experience as an intern, craft worker, or supervisor. A master's degree will help open doors to the large construction companies. It is wise to also obtain a voluntary certificate from the American Institute of Constructors or The Construction Management Association.
