Job Description for Quality Assurance Supervisor, Manufacturing

The manufacturing quality assurance supervisor is in charge of ensuring that the products produced at their manufacturing facility are safe, consistent, of high quality and in the correct quantity. The supervisor makes sure this happens by testing and sampling products in a timely, accurate manner, which helps make sure that all products conform to standards, are labeled properly and are properly functioning. This position requires excellent knowledge of the product, as well as strong communication skills to make sure that all employees are fully aware of required procedures and operations.

The quality assurance supervisor manages others in the department, and they provides timely, useful data on operations to their supervisor. The manufacturing quality assurance supervisor inspects supplies that come into their facility and product intended to leave. They also conduct in-house audits, as well as investigate and report any customer complaint and issues with conformity. Additionally, this manager is in charge of proper product documentation, labeling, and safe procedures in distribution.

Some of the requirements for manufacturing quality assurance supervisor positions include a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, any needed technical licenses, and at least two to five years of relevant experience. This position also requires technical knowledge of any laws, rules or procedures necessary to performing the manufacturing work. The manager must be able to plan, communicate on, and monitor operations while using the necessary computer programs as well.
