Pros: Different challenges every day. Given high levels of responsibility. Feeling of importance within a site team. Good scope for advancement. Negotiating deals with clients and subcontractors. Finding an entitlement to additional monies.
Cons: High level of pressure at certain times in the period. Blame for anything money related always sticks with the QS. Site team do not feel responsible for cost control. Travelling between sites is common. Some aspects of the job can be monotonous.
