Work Life Balance
Balancing work and play
I'll keep it short and sweet. The hospitality industry expects a "whatever it takes" attitude from its managers. This can mean 60 work weeks, however, working smart and NOT hard is the mark of a good manager. That being said, it is also a transient business, with many opportunites to travel, so do that. What is the point of working if you don't enjoy real quality time with those you love and, of course, the all important, battery recharging, me time. Work hard, smart, and then....take time for yourself. Remember, no one will offer it, you must have your ducks in a row, tell your employer your taking time, and then plan a great trip. Take advantage of your benefits!
