For those who claim five to nine years of work experience, pay on average amounts to $74K per year. The greater proportion of employees (43 percent) report one to four years of experience and bring home median pay of about $55K annually.
Senior Technical Consultants are awarded the highest paychecks, with compensation nearing $89K per year on average; Senior Business Consultants are next on the list, bringing in close to $75K, followed by Information Technology Consultants earning approximately $63K and Software Developers making around $63K. Business Analysts at CGI Federal do not see much in the way of financial compensation and represent one of the lower-paid positions (approximately $47K on average) at the company.
When it comes to location, the highest average paycheck (about $72K annually) can be spotted in Washington, DC; the company's headquarter city of Fairfax, Va. ($71K), Cleveland, Ohio ($56K), and Jacksonville, Fla. (around $55K) are the next top-paying cities. On the lower end is San Antonio, Texas at $43K. Within the firm, employees working in District of Columbia take home the most — approximately $72K per year on average.
Certifications and Degrees
Project Management Professionals earn $104K annually, far more than their non-accredited counterparts. On average, salaries rise to $98K per year for accredited Certified Information Systems Security Professionals. It pays to have a Master of Business Administration (MBA), Business Management at CGI Federal — these employees make the most at around $223K annually.
The best-paying skill to have in this role appears to be Project Management; employees who claim this ability report median compensation of about $75K per year. Business Analysis also popped up often in the survey as an important skill; about a sixth of employees surveyed report using it at work. SQL, Microsoft Office, and Java are also desirable skills.
Benefits and Perks
Unfortunately, a minority of employees — about two-fifths of employees — are presented with both paid vacation and sick leave.
