Senior Electrical Engineers are the best paid with the average salary hovering at approximately $99K annually; Mechanical Engineers, Aerospace Engineers, and Information Security Engineers also rank near the top of the list, pulling in $91K, $88K, and $79K, respectively. Computer Analysts are among the lowest paid at a median salary of around $67K.
By state, Alabama offers the highest pay at approximately $74K per year.
Certifications and Degrees
Project Management Professionals have significantly higher pay than non-accredited workers at about $124K annually. Earning an Engineer in Training certification garners significant financial rewards of $108K per year on average. The best paid folks at Dynetics, Inc. have a Master of Engineering (MEng / ME), earning $113K annually.
The highest-paying skill to have may be Project Management; employees who claim proficiency also report a higher average salary of $95K per year. Folks here also tend to know C++ Programming Language; on the survey, one in four of workers named it in their skills portfolios. Key skills also include Matlab, Engineering Design, and C# Programming Language.
The number of male employees who participated in the survey outweighs the number of women; the male-to-female ratio is more than 3 to 1.
