Workers who have been with the company for more than one year but less than five can make about $50K per year on average. The greater proportion of employees (47 percent) report five to nine years of experience and bring home median pay of $61K annually.
Operations Managers are the best paid with the average salary hovering at $83K per year; Senior Financial Analysts and Purchasing Analysts also rank near the top of the list, pulling in around $62K and $58K, respectively.
Certifications and Degrees
Holland America Line compensates Bachelor's Degree-holders the most at approximately $55K annually.
Employees who count People Management among their skills enjoy higher pay; the median for this group is $91K per year. Microsoft Excel also popped up often in the survey as an important skill; nearly one in five of employees surveyed report using it at work. Key skills also include Microsoft Office, Budgeting, and Project Management.
Benefits and Perks
Benefits packages do tend to lack paid time off; Holland America Line gives paid vacation days to a sixth of employees and sick leave to one in four respondents. A 401(k) program is available, and a strong majority of respondents use it to save for retirement. Health insurance is part of the package for most workers, and for a majority of survey participants, dental coverage is too. Advantages of working here also include life insurance, a stock purchase plan, a company cell phone, and flexible hours.
