Respondents who have been working for five to nine years make approximately $53K per year on average. When we consider tenure, a substantial portion of employees (50 percent) have been working for one to four years and make $45K annually on average.
Safety Managers represent the higher end of the earnings spectrum — in fact, median pay for this job is the highest at $68K per year — though Operations Managers, Tractor-Trailer Drivers, and Transportation Planners also do fairly well at $52K, about $51K, and around $46K, respectively. Earning only about $41K on average, Business Development Analysts make less than most people in the company.
When it comes to location, the highest average paycheck ($52K annually) can be spotted in Oak Brook, Ill.; Dallas, Texas ($51K), Atlanta, Ga. (around $46K), and Chicago, Ill. (approximately $44K) are the next top-paying cities. Pay rates in the United States are highest in the state of Missouri, where they average to $83K per year.
Certifications and Degrees
Hub Group, Inc. workers who hold a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) are also well compensated, earning $57K on average.
When it comes to skills, Budget Management seems to bolster pay the most; employees who claim proficiency also enjoy a median income of $110K annually. Microsoft Excel is regularly seen around here; between a fifth and a fourth of those surveyed report it as a core competency. Microsoft Office, Logistics, and Microsoft Word round out the set of key employee skills.
Benefits and Perks
Only a sixth of survey respondents enjoy paid vacation days and paid sick time — a rather disappointing finding. Most survey participants save up for retirement through a 401(k) plan. For most workers, benefits include health insurance, and a solid majority of employees get dental coverage, too.
