By state, the highest pay levels are found in Indiana, where the average O'Charley's Inc. employee makes approximately $56K per year.
Years of Experience
For those with one to four years of experience, median paychecks reach $44K annually. When we consider tenure, a substantial portion of employees (39 percent) have been working for five to nine years and make $47K per year on average.
Restaurant General Managers earn the highest median pay at $63K annually, followed by Front of House Restaurant Managers (about $50K), Kitchen Managers (approximately $48K), and Restaurant Assistant Managers ($48K). Restaurant Managers are among the lowest paid at a median salary of around $44K.
Certifications and Degrees
Being a Servsafe food manager certification certainly has its perks — salaries approach $49K per year and far exceed the paychecks of those without certification.
The highest-paying skill to have may be Budget Management; employees who claim proficiency also report a higher average salary of around $62K annually. Inventory Management also popped up often in the survey as an important skill; one-half of employees surveyed report using it at work. People Management, Customer Service, and Scheduling round out the set of key employee skills.
