Years of Experience
For those with one to four years of experience, median paychecks reach approximately $44K annually. The greater proportion of employees (34 percent) report five to nine years of experience and bring home median pay of about $48K per year.
The highest average salaries go to Restaurant General Managers, who bring in close to $63K annually, though Front of House Restaurant Managers are not far behind at approximately $50K along with Kitchen Managers ($49K) and Restaurant Assistant Managers (around $48K). On the lower end are Restaurant Managers at $45K on average.
Certifications and Degrees
Certified ServSafe Food Handlers earn around $50K per year, far more than their non-accredited counterparts. Acquiring certification to be a Servsafe food manager certification is rewarded with median pay of $49K annually.
