(about $51K), and Decatur, Ill. ($41K) are the next top-paying cities. Pay rates in the United States are highest in the state of Indiana, where they average to $56K annually.
Years of Experience
Those with one to four years of experience at the company can expect to make approximately $44K per year on average. When we consider tenure, a substantial portion of employees (39 percent) have been working for five to nine years and make $47K annually on average.
The highest average salaries go to Restaurant General Managers, who bring in close to $63K per year, though Front of House Restaurant Managers are not far behind at approximately $50K along with Kitchen Managers (around $48K) and Restaurant Assistant Managers (about $48K). Restaurant Managers at O'Charley's Inc. do not see much in the way of financial compensation and represent one of the lower-paid positions ($44K on average) at the company.
Certifications and Degrees
Servsafe food manager certifications are compensated at a much higher rate than non-authorized workers, bringing in close to $49K annually.
When it comes to skills, Budget Management seems to bolster pay the most; employees who claim proficiency also enjoy a median income of approximately $62K per year. Inventory Management is regularly seen around here; roughly one-half of those surveyed report it as a core competency. People Management, Customer Service, and Scheduling round out the set of key employee skills.
