On the lower end are Electrical Engineers at $69K on average.
When it comes to location, the highest average paycheck (around $97K per year) can be spotted in Salt Lake City, Utah; Brigham City, Utah (about $96K), Chandler, Ariz. ($93K), and Sterling, Va. ($91K) are the next top-paying cities. Approaching the lower end of the pay scale (at around $76K) is Washington, DC. By state, Maryland offers the highest pay at approximately $96K annually.
Certifications and Degrees
Certified Six Sigma Green Belts have significantly higher pay than non-accredited workers at about $108K per year. Becoming an ASME Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Certification can certainly pay off here; those folks make $92K on average. The highest-paying degree here is a Master of Science (MS); Orbital Sciences Corporation awards $91K to these degree-holders.
When it comes to skills, employees who report Technical Analysis among their abilities seem to make the most, reporting a median income of $96K annually. A relatively widespread skill at Orbital Sciences Corporation is Engineering Design; over a third of employees use it for work. Other top skills include Project Management, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Excel.
