By state, North Carolina offers the highest pay at $100K per year.
Plant Controllers are the best paid with the average salary hovering at $90K annually; Territory Managers, Process Engineers, and Buyers also rank near the top of the list, pulling in about $73K, around $59K, and $45K, respectively.
Years of Experience
Five to nine years of work experience seem to result in median wages of $64K per year. Workers who have been with the company for more than one year but less than five can make approximately $58K annually on average. Broken down by tenure, the largest share of Ply Gem employees (38 percent) have 10-19 years of experience and earn $85K per year on average.
Certifications and Degrees
Monetary compensation comes to $110K annually for Project Management Professionals, far surpassing the earnings of non-credentialed workers. Bigger paychecks are awarded to Certified Public Accountants with credentials; these people earn about $90K per year on average. The highest-paying degree here is a Master of Science (MS); Ply Gem awards approximately $108K to these degree-holders.
The highest-paying skill to have in this role seems to be Java; employees claiming this as part of the toolbox earn a median of around $110K annually. Microsoft Excel also popped up often in the survey as an important skill; just under a fifth of employees surveyed report using it at work.
