Years of Experience
For those with five to nine years of experience, average earnings amount to about $64K annually. The greater proportion of employees (38 percent) report one to four years of experience and bring home median pay of $62K per year.
When it comes to location, the highest average paycheck ($87K annually) can be spotted in Chicago, Ill.; Lake Forest, Ill. (about $86K), Buffalo Grove, Ill. (approximately $63K), and Dallas, Texas (around $61K) are the next top-paying cities. Approaching the lower end of the pay scale (at $50K) is Denver, Colo. W.W. Grainger, Inc. workers in Illinois earn the most — around $84K per year on average.
Certifications and Degrees
Those lacking certification bring in much lower salaries than Certified ITIL Leaders, who make $125K annually. Project Management Professionals also rank high on the pay scale, with expected average earnings of approximately $123K per year. The best paid folks at W.W. Grainger, Inc. have a Master of Business Administration (MBA), Marketing, earning $115K annually.
When it comes to skills, Project Management seems to bolster pay the most; employees who claim proficiency also enjoy a median income of $76K per year. Folks here also tend to know Account Management; on the survey, a little less than a fifth of workers named it in their skills portfolios. Other skills in demand are Microsoft Excel, Customer Service, and Data Analysis.
