Wabtec Corporation, named for Westinghouse Air Brake Technologies Corporation, manufactures transportation products. Formed by the merger of Westinghosue Air Brake Company and MotivePower Industries in 1999, the company is headquartered in Wilmerding, Pennsylvania. It produces parts for locomotives, freight cars, and passenger transit vehicles. With fifty plants worldwide, Wabtec also builds new locomotives. In 2011, the company acquired Brush Traction, an English business that builds and maintains locomotives.
