Job: Account Manager Sales (United States)

It's hard to negotiate when everyone else is getting laid-off.

I moved to the Clifton/Centreville area July 1st- relocating from Oregon. I was told that finding a job here, would be very easy. It is Early September, and it has not been as easy as everyone predicted. I do not possess experience in Government B2B or Hi Tech experience which is huge in this market, as my experience was in Steel Sales (10 years) and here in Northern Virginia my experience in Steel will get me very little action. I expect to have to take a cut in pay in order to enter the Hi Tech field. Also, I have had virtually no luck with the 4 recruiters I am working with because they too, are having the same roadblocks from Hi Tech and Gov't as I. Though, I would like to say that Careerbuilder.com has been a very useful tool, and posting resume's and good cover letters directly to businesses on the internet has finally caused my phone to start ringing. I believe now I have a system that will help me get more exposure and a new job.
