Activities assistants generally work in extended care facilities, community centers, and other educational environments, and assist activities coordinators/directors to ensure that activities go as planned. They may also help their directors choose new activities which enhance relaxation, exercise, and mental stimulation and contribute to psychological, physical, and social development. Activities assistants are also involved in planning, organizing, and directing activities and assisting the instructors who oversee them. Their work is partially administrative, but mostly physically demanding, so it is important to meet minimum physical requirements.
