Job Description for Admissions Advisor (College/University)

College and university admissions advisors are responsible for acting as a liaison between their school and the general public. They are in charge of deploying recruiting strategies that help increase recognition for their organization. They provide the necessary information for possible admission candidates and their families so that they can make a more informed decision. They build interest, and awareness for their school using innovative materials, and offerings, work increase the number of applications the institution receives, serves as a point of contact for freshman students, and guides them through all the enrollment process. Additional tasks performed by the advisor includes developing excellent relationships with family members and prospective university members in on- and off-campus events, responding to emails pertaining to enrollment application questions, and processing paperwork as needed. They also attend college fairs, regularly review acceptance forms, and report their progress to the admissions manager in their organization.
