An animal control worker is typically employed by a municipality to help deal with the presence of animals in areas that are typically residential. They help get stray pets to safe shelters to prevent them from injuring themselves or others. They also help contain and remove wild animals from human-populated areas to more appropriate natural habitats. Animal control workers must have an aptitude and affinity for working with animals of all varieties. They must also respect and follow procedures and policies at all times to ensure their own safety and that of community members.
