Job Description for Building & Facility Manager

A building and facility manager is responsible for performing building maintenance, repair and upgrades. They oversee visitor and employee safety and also ensure the facility is following all applicable environmental and safety regulations. The building and facility manager also oversees facility security, including developing and overseeing emergency plans for a variety of contingencies. In the event of an emergency, they will assist first responders in locating missing persons, assessing the condition of the building, coordinating necessary utility interruptions, and informing the appropriate people (such as management or property owners) of the situation. They also coordinate emergency utility repairs, and keep facility residents updated with restoration activities.
