Job Description for Bus Person

Bus persons are tasked with ensuring that tables are clean and maintaining the orderly appearance of the restaurant. They generally clean all tables after a party leaves the restaurant, take dishes to the kitchen to be washed, and vacuum or sweep all debris on the floors and underneath the tables. They may also bring bread, butter, and water to the table before a waiter or waitress come to take guests' actual orders.

  • Check off and pick up storeroom supplies.
  • Set up and maintain cleanliness of work station.
  • Stock needed supplies.
  • Clean tables after guests have left and set up tables with clean silverware, glassware and napkins.
  • Assist wait staff and kitchen staff in various ways.
