Job Description for Business Solutions Director

A business solutions director is responsible for ensuring high-quality and highly-efficient operations within an organization. This position is required in a wide variety of companies and organizations in numerous professional fields. A Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Administration is often required, although some companies will supplement an Associate’s degree with added experience. Many companies also recommend a Master’s degree (MBA) for this position. Business solutions directors should have a range of experience within sales and marketing, (a minimum of five years is often required); as well as proper training in relevant computer programming and software. Those in this position typically work in office environments and keep daytime “office hours;” however, the nature of the job does require extended hours on occasion.


Business Solutions Director Tasks

  • Define and revise the target business process model and long-term organizational goals and priorities.
  • Implement change management activities such as gaining executive sponsorship, and promote internal and external communication.
  • Present business plans and strategies for business cases to approval boards.
  • Develop long-ranging, multi-year implementation plans, including milestones, cost estimates, and resource requirements.
