These supervisors are generally responsible for hiring staff and reviewing the credentials, certifications, and license requirements of applicants. They are also responsible for the day-to-day supervision and management of their staff and coordinating and supervising their daily operations. They may oversee their staff's development and training, from individual coaching to annual performance reviews, and also assist them with patient plans, care activities, and other issues which may arise, even during off-hours or vacation time.
Candidates for this position should have a current registered nurse license, an associate's degree or higher in registered nursing, a minimum of four years of clinical nursing experience, and five years of case management experience. Good computer skills, communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment are also beneficial.
Case Manager Supervisor Tasks
- Ensure that clients and service providers meet obligations in a timely fashion.
- Supervise delivery of clients' plans, such as home visits, and oversee compliance and evaluate quality of services.
- Respond to emergencies with appropriate interventions.
- Read case profiles, interview clients, and set up a plan for coordination of services.
- Evaluate psychological needs and set up tests and treatment plans.
