These supervisors must be able to meet budget goals by monitoring project expenses and reducing unnecessary spending, and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and professional engineering license are generally required for this position. Some employers also require a master's degree and seven to ten years of engineering experience, and other important skills include project management, quality management, supply management, quality control, and delegation.
