Job Description for Commissions Analyst
Commissions analysts maintain in-depth financial information to keep a company's books in order, and they are primarily responsible for developing commissions reports, creating reconciliations, analyzing information, and entering data from transactions into an accounting system. They may work in teams with other analysts to ensure the accuracy of information entered into the system, and this position requires close attention to detail and computer skills to create spreadsheets and commission calculations.Read More...
Commissions analysts must be able to calculate sales performance and monthly totals to a ledger, and strong communication skills are important in this position to work well with others and clients via email and phone on a regular basis. Problem-solving and decision-making skills are also important in this position.
A bachelor's degree in a financial field is generally required for commissions analysts, though some employers require only an associate's degree. Hours in this position can vary, but most commissions analysts work during regular weekly business hours.
