Compliance and privacy officers ensure that their company complies with industry and company rules, as well as that confidential corporate information remains private. These officers explain the content and meaning of rules to employees within their organization, as well as ensure those rules are followed; they also make sure that the existing policies meet current regulation requirements. In some businesses, the position of compliance and privacy officer is split into two positions; smaller businesses are more likely to employ a single person for both jobs.
