Typical qualifications for compliance managers of IT security products include at least ten years of experience in information security or information risk management, and experience with network security products and platforms. Some companies prefer applicants who have least five years of experience in a leadership capacity, as well.
Due to the nature of the profession, a thorough understanding of security requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley, ISO certifications, and data privacy laws is essential, complemented by a strong working knowledge of applicable laws and experience with business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
