Job Description for Computer Aided Design (CAD) Operator

CAD operators use computer-aided design (CAD) systems to draft and draw blueprints which will guide the creation of high-quality products by a company. They also develop plans for architecture, especially building foundations and interior room layouts and planning. Close attention to detail is essential in this position, and these operators must also be aware of all building codes and other specific site requirements; they are sometimes asked to visit actual construction sites to properly determine what work is necessary and any specific needs or limitations.
