A learning and development consultant provides strategic leadership for the learning initiatives for an educational institution. They work with all of the key stakeholders to assess, identify, and prioritize learning deliverables. At the beginning of this process, the learning and development consultant must define the scope of the learning initiative. After defining the appropriate scope, the learning and development consultant works with members of the educational institution to implement the new learning initiative. Then, they determine how to test and examine the new initiative to determine if success was achieved. After the tests are performed, the learning and development consultant reviews the data and determine if the initiative meets the established requirements and is in line with organizational goals. After successfully completing the implementation of the learning initiatives, the learning and development consultant continue to work to identify new policies and procedures that can be integrated into the organization.
