Job Description for Consulting Engineer

A consulting engineer consults companies on technical subjects to optimize profitability and efficiency. Depending on the companies' exact field, specialized knowledge may be required to perform daily operations such as troubleshooting problems, recommending tools and software, evaluating procedures and methods, and providing budgeting advice. Positions for consulting engineers be available internally (limiting work to one company) or be with a wide variety of customers. Either way, there is great potential for regular travel and/or teleconferencing work with remote offices and locations.
