A control or automation engineer's main responsibility is supporting all projects that involve controls or automation. They establish the company's standards for the products they help create, as well as recognize issues, address them, and implement fixes quickly and effectively. Control or automation engineers also need to devise layouts and studies to determine the best and most efficient ways to solve engineering issues that may arise. These individuals also need to work with engineers from other departments to ensure that controls fit within the design guidelines of the product as well.
