Job Description for Counter Manager
Counter managers are responsible for achieving daily sales goals set by their organization. They present and sell products in a professional manner using demonstrations, presenting products to customers, and responding to customer questions. They are also responsible for training, coaching, and developing counter staff to achieve the required productivity goals. Additionally, counter managers must ensure that their counter's stock is replenished as needed and that the sales area is clean and effectively presents product to potential customers. A counter manager is normally employed in a retail environment, typically focused on beauty products. They normally work full time with no travel required for this job. These managers typically work behind the counter for most of their shift so they need to be able to stand for long periods of time; there is normally no heavy lifting required.
Basic requirements for counter manager positions generally include at least a high school diploma or equivalent. Counter managers also need to have some experience in retail, along with some managerial or supervisory experience. Along with these requirements, counter managers must have excellent communication skill to interact effectively with customers and their team. They also need to be able to use a computer and a standard telephone to perform relevant job duties.
