A customer relationship management analyst is a professional who works with a company or consulting firm to analyze consumer data and make recommendations regarding sales and customer service initiatives. While this person may typically work in an office, they may also work closely with customers and clients in a store environment. This position will typically keep traditional daytime, weekday hours. A customer relationship management analyst will generally need a bachelor’s degree in the business field, and many organizations require a master’s of business administration degree in addition to extensive work experience within the field. Experience within marketing, management, or computer science is also considered an advantage.
A customer relationship management analyst will have a variety of responsibilities associated with their job, including assisting the company with building and maintaining customer loyalty, using consumer relationship management software to analyze customer data, making recommendations regarding sales initiatives, recommending marketing techniques, advancing customer service initiatives, analyzing data collected by companies regarding their customers, spotting trends within data, assessing responses to various campaigns within the company, finding correlations within the data, monitoring responses from customers, analyzing customers’ behaviors on websites to tailor individual offers, correlating purchase history with exposure to campaigns, creating reports for colleagues, recommending direct marketing techniques, and consulting about customer outreach. This position requires a person who is extremely analytical and intuitive. Expert communication skills are imperative. A customer relationship management analyst should also be extremely proficient with analytical and technical software, as well as database user interface and various software necessary for the job.
