DevOps managers must be able to coordinate workflow to ensure that each department within the company is running smoothly, and they must also be able to sit in front of a computer for long periods of time. They are typically responsible for productivity and a variety of operational tasks, and letter-writing may also be necessary on a frequent basis.
It is important for development operations managers to maintain a positive demeanor and work well in a team environment to keep the office running smoothly. They must be able to work with little to no absence, as sometimes they may be the only available employees with knowledge of certain practices within the company. They must be able to lift up to 25 pounds to lift and move filing boxes and other small- and medium-sized packages on occasion, and a high school diploma is often a minimum requirement for this position while some employers also require a bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
