A digital design engineer designs new digital hardware products and creates the circuitry that is necessary for the products to function. The digital design engineer will test and verify circuitry such as mixed signal circuitry. The engineer should keep up to date with the latest developments in the technology field in order to determine trends and to find out what the competition is creating. The engineer will also continuously evaluate existing digital products in order to determine if changes or updates need to be made. The digital design engineer may create surveys and work with consumers to determine their wants and needs for new products. A digital design engineer may have to create products that meet a certain specification while ensuring that the circuitry flows smoothly. In order to accomplish these tasks, strong analytical and problem solving skills are needed. Having these skills will ensure that the engineer can create and perfect products that will succeed on the market.
