What is it like working as a Director, Senior Counsel?

Director, Senior Counsel in Washington:
"Varied and Interesting."
Pros: My work varies from day to day and allows me to work in different arenas. My work day varies from meetings with members of Congress to meetings with White House staff to work with coalitions. I also have a varied mix of public speaking engagements and writing as well as media opportunities. I also get to develop advocacy plans and strategies for promoting organizational legislative priorities.
Cons: Working with other programs whose priorities may differ from what I see as the priorities for advocacy in Washington.
